THE BEGINNING OF "PHOTO A DAY"...

This is my official photo for today, June 30, 2009. It is a picture I took of "Grandpa's Daisies" against our waterfall. The seeds of these daisies were planted at Elk Creek and Dad saved the seeds and gave me the flowers for me to plant. I love how they are growing throughout our whole backyard now.
Here is a "pre-41"self portrait I took this weekend before going to Cherry Hills for lunch with mom, Tami, Carly, Grammama and Pat Collett. That was a great start to a fun celebration these past few days. I have always loved having my birthday so close to my moms and we definitely had a fun weekend.

Here it is, my 41st birthday. My goal was to get this blog going for this day and to start my personal challenge of "A Year in the Life...a photo a day". In theory, taking a photo a day is a done deal, but the actual posting of them may be the big challenge. I'll do my best to post daily, or at least update my blog with the daily photos if I miss a day (or two). This will be a fun reflection for me as I look back on this upcoming year. I hope 41 is as good as being 40.

AWESOME DADS!

Happy Father's Day to my dad. He truly has always put his family first and this continues with his grandchildren also. The boys absolutely love being with him and my mom. Whether it is playing darts or ping pong or a game of "Horse" or "Pig" , he enjoys every moment with the boys. I especially enjoy meeting him for coffee or going on a hike. Special times that I never want to take for granted.

This picture shows what a fun, great dad Todd is. He likes nothing better than running over to the pool for a "quick dip" that usually turns in to more than just a short outing. Sharks and minnows and "Hot Monkey" are favorite games to play, especially first thing on a weekend morning before anyone else is at the pool.

Getting Started

I really have no idea what I'm doing, but am looking forward to posting pictures, writing about life and figuring this blog thing out. Stay tuned. Thanks to Christopher for coming up with the title of "A Touch of Sunshine." I love it!
